Hello,
First off, I should say I have just signed up to these forums. I am looking for a composer for a very unusual task. It take some background explanation so here goes:
Several years ago, a PC game was released called Age of Kings. While the game is quite old, it still has a huge following even though games released after it have since died out. The main reason fore this is that the game ships with a scenario editor that has been used to create the most wonderful scenarios. Indeed, they are often more like films. They are uploaded to various community sites, by far the largest of which is Heavengames. There they can be rated by other members of the community. Some of these designs have become truly legendary, and the game is often modified to such an extent that the designs have little to do with the game. Some of these designs are playable, other are merely cinematic.
Well this is where I come in, I am a designer for AoK (Age of kings), and at the risk of sounding proud a pretty good one (I have scored 5.0, a perfect score, for a design of the Hemingway novel "The old man and the Sea"). Anyway I have recently set out to bring a massive western to AoK, in the style of the classic westerns, such as the Clint Eastwood trilogy or "Once Upon a Time in the West". I am in need of a original western theme. If you need an example listen to the theme from one of the above movies.
I have a solid musical background, so I may be able to answer more detailed questions. I am open to any instruments or style, as long as the end result has that distinct western feel. It should be a typical movie theme style in that it has highs and lows, etc.
In the unlikely event someone responds, you will of course be credited, both in the download page, and in the rolling credits at the end of the design itself.
I look forward to any questions (or even better, offers). I apologize for the weirdness of this request, but I thought I would give this place a shot. Thanks. |
