| What kind of batons do you guys use? I'm interested in getting a better kind, to encourage me... as a sort of reward for myself. |

| I've got a Pickboy baton, fiberglass shaft and rosewood grip, about 380mm. |

| I don't use one, but I'm not conducting orchestral groups, I conduct bands and vocal groups so it's more of a gospel type approach. |

I was thinking of getting another Pickboy baton, actually. I have an older version of the Carbon Graphite one and I'm thinking of upgrading. I was told by someone using a Maple Pickboy that the newer ones are much better balanced... which, to me, seems completely unimportant. I've never found a baton to be very utalitarian. It just makes me feel good to have a nice one and is there to serve as a reminder of music in general.
How do you feel about your batons? ... Does it matter which kind you use? |
